HBS Thursday Night Blues – 8 August 2019

Big night, HOT night for the middle of winter in biddy’s back bar from 7pm onward.

Not just your usual Blues Night, we have special guests the Dale Robbins Band with yet another guest, Steve Arvey (RV) – here is Steve Arvey on national Tele in 2004:

As usual Dale and the lads open the night and from 7:45pm stage control reverts to the Whiteboard.

Let’s show our American Guest Steve a BIG and Hot Waikato welcome.  After HBS they are appearing at the Bay of Islands Jazz & Blues Festival in the winterless north.

Blues Night, Thursday 11 July 2019

Hamilton Blues Society poster for Blues Night July 2019From 7pm until 10:30pm back bar at Biddy’s.

Whiteboard controlled stage each act gets 3 songs or 15 minutes to perform.

Earlier part of the night is for jamming and novice performers then from 8pm onward for bands.  Wind-up is around 10:30pm when a band starts up in the front bar.

Child friendly, some great raffles, Gold Coin donation, LIVE music.  Come along and have some fun.

Fete de la Musique or World Music Day 22 and 23 June 2019

A regular participant in fete de la Musique, Biddy Mulligan’s in Hood are hosting two stages, one in each bar.  Starting from 1pm the musical programme is:

The front bar managed by John Maydon is presenting a number of emerging and novice artists along with some really well known Hamilton performers, including: Al’s Angels, Chris Penman, Roger McLay, and Angela Sullivan.

In the back bar we have Shotgun, Conmen, The Toads from Tokoroa, and Al’s Angels.

Rotorua Blues Festival – Queen’s Birthday 2019

After news of funding cuts for this festival Hamilton Blues Society supported BOP Blues Club by providing eight HBS bands at the Barcode Bar on Arawa Street.   A fantastic night of music followed, well attended by HBS members and local supporters.  Let’s hope that the Rotorua Blues Festival organising Committee were satisfied with HBS efforts.  Starting at 5pm in the afternoon, the eight bands were: Under The Influence, Black Sheep, Out Of The Blue, The Dirty TonesShotgun, Velvet Bulldozer, Situation Vacant, and finally Magic & 3am Blues.
