A regular participant in fete de la Musique, Biddy Mulligan’s in Hood are hosting two stages, one in each bar. Starting from 1pm the musical programme is: The front bar managed by John Maydon is presenting a number of emerging and novice artists along with some really well known Hamilton performers, including: Al’s Angels, Chris Penman, Roger McLay, and Angela Sullivan. In the back bar we have Shotgun, Conmen, The Toads from Tokoroa, and Al’s Angels.
After news of funding cuts for this festival Hamilton Blues Society supported BOP Blues Club by providing eight HBS bands at the Barcode Bar on Arawa Street. A fantastic night of music followed, well attended by HBS members and local supporters. Let’s hope that the Rotorua Blues Festival organising Committee were satisfied with HBS efforts. Starting at 5pm in the afternoon, the eight bands were: Under The Influence, Black Sheep, Out Of The Blue, The Dirty Tones, Shotgun, Velvet Bulldozer, Situation Vacant, and finally Magic & 3am Blues.
