Nate Taiapa is retiring from his show The Blues Room on Free FM. Nate invites HBS members and musicians to join him between 9pm and 11pm to jam in the studio (there may be an element of direct to air). Where is the studio: 214 Collingwood Street, Lake end, white building, up the hill. There will be drums, and PA there. Guitarists bring amps plus. And there will be cake – it is also Nate’s birthday.

Big night, HOT night for the middle of winter in biddy’s back bar from 7pm onward. Not just your usual Blues Night, we have special guests the Dale Robbins Band with yet another guest, Steve Arvey (RV) – here is Steve Arvey on national Tele in 2004: As usual Dale and the lads open the night and from 7:45pm stage control reverts to the Whiteboard. Let’s show our American Guest Steve a BIG and Hot Waikato welcome. After HBS they are appearing at the Bay of Islands Jazz & Blues Festival in the winterless north.
HBS celebrates IBMD in the front bar at Biddy’s from 1pm-6pm with follow on event occurring at The Roadhouse in Morrinsville, lead by Mat Ferris and his band Detour – until late. The Morrinsville event is also in memory of the late Rob McWhannell, drummer, who unexpectedly passed 12 months ago after a long battle with cancer.
